Single source of truth

A single source of truth means every piece of data, such as a price, a stock level or a customer address, is managed in one place and arrives everywhere else automatically from there.

Without that one source the familiar problems appear: the site shows a different price than the quote, the customer has two addresses in two systems, and nobody knows which number is right. Every correction is manual work and every discrepancy a complaint.

You do not get there by stuffing everything into one package, but by agreeing per type of data which system leads and connecting the rest to it. That is the quiet foundation under reliable dashboards and under agents that do not answer wrongly.
