AI readiness
AI readiness is the degree to which a company is ready to use AI meaningfully: are the processes clear, is the data reachable and are the people prepared.
AI rarely fails on the model and often on what surrounds it. Is the knowledge in heads instead of in systems? Does customer data live in three tools that contradict each other? Then an agent delivers little. Readiness is about your foundation: which data is available through an API, which process is described and who owns it.
You do not need everything in order to start. You start with the one process where the data is already right and the pain is biggest, and work outward from there.
Other terms
API
An API (application programming interface) is the official entrance through which software talks to other software: fetching, creating or changing data without a human clicking.
Webhook
A webhook is a signal one system sends to another the moment something happens, for example "there is a new order", so the receiving system does not have to keep asking.
LLM (large language model)
An LLM is the AI model that understands and writes text, such as the models behind ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. It is the engine under an AI agent, not the agent itself.
