System integration
System integration is connecting separate systems, such as web store, ERP, accounting and CRM, so data flows between them automatically and is the same everywhere.
Most companies already have the right software, it just does not talk to itself. Then an order is retyped three times and the stock on the site does not match the warehouse. An integration removes that retyping and makes one system leading per type of data.
A good integration is more than a wire: it handles outages (queue and retry), checks afterwards that everything arrived and reports when something is rejected. That is the difference between an integration you stop trusting after a month and one that runs for years.

Middleware
Middleware is the intermediate layer that sits between your systems and manages the traffic: translating formats, queueing, retrying and keeping track of what was exchanged.
Knowledge base (with AI)
An AI knowledge base is a searchable collection of your own documents, manuals and agreements, in which staff or customers ask a question in plain language and get an answer with a source.
Shadow AI
Shadow AI is AI use by employees outside the organisation's view: pasting customer data into a free chatbot, having contracts summarised in a tool nobody approved.
